I've used Windows since the XP days, and even then, I didn't use the default Photos app. It always seemed slow. Two decades and a half a dozen Windows versions later, the modern Photos app isn't any better. If anything, it's worse. Microsoft has stuffed it with AI editing, OCR, OneDrive shortcuts, and Clipchamp promos, and somewhere along the way, it forgot the one job it's supposed to do: show me a photo, quickly.
